First permcath dialysis access procedure performed successfully at Livasa Hospital  Khanna 24 February ( PDL ) : Livasa Hospital Khanna has successfully performed its first permcath insertion for long-term dialysis access, marking a significant milestone in advanced nephrology care at the unit. A 60-year-old female patient, a known case of hypertension and chronic kidney disease (CKD), was initially started on hemodialysis at an outside facility via a temporary right internal jugular vein (IJV) catheter. She later presented to the emergency department at Livasa Hospital with complaints of decreased urine output, breathlessness, fever, and generalized body swelling. The patient was managed conservatively, following which her urine output improved. However, due to recurrent fever spikes and suspected catheter-related sepsis, the temporary right IJV dialysis catheter was removed. NHM Employees Union expresses dissatisfaction over non-release of UT share and pending arrears by the Health Department Chandigarh 24 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Chandigarh NHM Employees Union has expressed deep grudge over the Health Department’s failure to release the pending UT share and arrears for the financial year 2025–26, as well as its failure to implement the salary revision as per the DC rates. Union President Babita Rawat stated that the Finance Department had already given written approval in 2021 for an additional expenditure of ₹3.92 crore per year. Subsequently, the then Hon’ble Secretary Health had also agreed to implement salaries up to DC rate.
