Hon’ble Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh calls on Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu Chandigarh 28 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh on Monday made a courtesy call on Hon’ble President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The meeting took place following Prof Ghosh's swearing-in as the 19th Governor of Haryana on July 21, 2025. He was accompanied by his wife Mitra Ghosh. “I had a fruitful discussion with Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu. She shared several valuable suggestions on how to address the current situation in Haryana. Much work needs to be done with sincerity and dedication, particularly in the fields of social welfare, culture, and education,” said Governor Prof Ghosh. CGST Ludhiana Unearths ₹260 Crore Fake Billing Scam in Iron & Steel Sector; 2 Held Ludhiana 25 July ( PDL ) : Based on specific intelligence, the officers of CGST Ludhiana conducted multiple search operations in Mandi Gobindgarh, District Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, unearthing a syndicate involved in availing and passing on fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) in the iron and steel sector using five firms. During the search operations, the officers uncovered a modus operandi involving the acquisition of debt-ridden rolling mills, which were used as fronts by scamsters to avail and pass on fake ITC, thereby evading the scrutiny of GST enforcement agencies. Following the search operations, two individuals who were operating and controlling these firms were arrested on 24.07.2025. As per the preliminary assessment, the quantum of bogus bills stands at a staggering ₹260 crore, resulting in a GST loss of ₹47 crore to the exchequer. Mastermind in ₹189 Cr Customs Duty Evasion Case Arrested; Court Approves Custody Ludhiana 21 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Acting on specific intelligence, DRI Zonal Unit, Ludhiana has arrested an accused who is a mastermind in a case of customs duty evasion of Rs 189 Crore. He was produced before Hon’ble Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Ludhiana who has granted DRI custody of the accused on 20.07.2025 for further interrogation. The accused had been absconding since for more than one year. The accused through dummy proprietors of three firms was engaged in diversion of duty-free imported goods from the customs bonded warehouses. ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਝਟਕਾ : ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਰੱਦ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ 14 ਜੁਲਾਈ ( ਪੀ ਡੀ ਐਲ ) : ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਲਟਦਿਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ 1158 ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ । ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 1091 ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ 67 ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ 1158 ਕਾਲਜ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਖੜੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਕੁਝ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਭਰ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 1,091 ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ 67 ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਨਿਯਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਰਿੱਟ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਾਏ ਹਨ। ਕੁਝ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੈਰਿਟ-ਅਧਾਰਤ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਨਿਯਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦਾਇਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੈਨਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਠੀਕ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਯੋਗ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਔ...
