CPDL Invests Rs One Crore in Underground Cable Project to Ensure Reliable Power Supply in Shastri Nagar and Kishangarh Chandigarh 3 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In an infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply, Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited (CPDL) has commissioned a 3.5-km-long, 11 kV underground XLPE cable from the BBMB Grid Substation, Industrial Area Phase-I, to the Railway light point and further up to Kishangarh small roundabout at an investment of Rs one crore. The project replaces the existing overhead 11 kV Kalka Feeder, which passed through a forest area while crossing a railway bridge and a choe. The overhead line was highly susceptible to faults caused by tree branches coming in contact with the conductor, resulting in frequent power outages during storms and the monsoon season. ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਨਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸ਼ਨਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਸੀਪੀਡੀਐਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਭੂਮੀਗਤ ਕੇਬਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ 3 ਅਗਸਤ ( ਰਣਜੀਤ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ) : ਬਿਜਲੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪਾਵਰ ਡਿਸਟ੍ਰੀਬਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਲਿਮਿਟੇਡ (ਸੀਪੀਡੀਐਲ) ਨੇ ਬੀਬੀਐਮਬੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਡ ਸਬ-ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀਅਲ ਏਰੀਆ ਫੇਜ਼-1 ਤੋਂ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਲਾਈਟ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਿਸ਼ਨਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਮਾਲ ਰਾਊਂਡਅਬਾਊਟ ਤੱਕ 3.5 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਲੰਬੀ 11 ਕੇਵੀ ਭੂਮੀਗਤ ਐਕਸਐਲਪੀਈ (XLPE) ਕੇਬਲ ਵਿਛਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ 'ਤੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਇੱਕ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨਵੀਂ ਭੂਮੀਗਤ ਕੇਬਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ 11 ਕੇਵੀ ਕਾਲਕਾ ਫੀਡਰ ਦੀ ਓਵਰਹੈੱਡ ਲਾਈਨ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਲਾਈਨ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਪੁਲ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਅ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਦਰੱਖਤਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਾਹਣੀਆਂ ਤਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾਉਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਨਗਰ, ਕਿਸ਼ਨਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਫਾਰਮ ਹਾਊਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਪਤਕਾਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਭੂਮੀਗਤ ਕੇਬਲ ਲੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਈ ਹੱਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਮੌਸਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਹੋਰ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ...

CPDL Issues Monsoon Safety Advisory for Consumers Chandigarh 1 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In observance of the National Electric Safety Week and with the onset of monsoon season, the Chandigarh Power Distribution Limited has urged the consumers to exercise extra caution while using electrical equipment to prevent accidents and ensure safety. CPDL officials advised residents to maintain a safe distance from electric poles, transformers, and any exposed or damaged electrical wires, particularly during and after rainfall. Consumers have also been cautioned against touching electrical appliances or equipment with wet hands. In the event of water leakage inside homes, the main power supply should be switched off immediately to avoid any risk of electric shock.
