Sutlej' Film Being Blocked on OTT Is a Symbol of Undeclared Censorship : Dhindsa, Phillaur Chandigarh 8 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Senior Vice President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Punarsurjit), Parminder Singh Dhindsa, and Sarwan Singh Phillaur, in a joint press statement, alleged that the blocking of the film Sutlej is a symbol of undeclared censorship in the country. The two leaders stated that the film, originally titled Punjab 95, is based on true events that took place in Punjab and portrays the life and struggle of Jaswant Singh Khalra, former General Secretary of the Human Rights Wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal. They said that the film has remained with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) since 2022 and could not be released in cinemas because the Board demanded 127 cuts and modifications. Northern Railways and Indus Towers Strengthen Women’s Hygiene Access Across 175 Railway Stations Chandigarh 8 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Indus Towers, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, in partnership with Northern Railways, has installed 500 sanitary napkin vending machines under its CSR program, Nari Samman. Deployed across 175 railway stations in the Delhi, Firozpur, Ambala, Moradabad and Lucknow divisions, the machines are equipped with IoT-enabled monitoring and have dispensed approximately 3 crore sanitary napkins to date. The initiative ensures round-the-clock availability and free access to sanitary napkins for women travelers.
