CBM joins Chandigarh Administration's campaign against drug abuse Chandigarh 15 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Strengthening its commitment towards social responsibility, Chandigarh Vyapar Mandal (CBM) has decided to actively participate in the campaign against drug abuse being run by the Chandigarh Administration. The Municipal Corporation has re-invited tenders for laying and installation of a 10-inch I/D SW pipeline, construction of manholes, and other related works. The estimated cost of the project is ₹12,65,997, with a stipulated completion period of two months. ਕਜੇਹੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਨ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੋਕ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ, ਘਰਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਪਾਣੀ — ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਾਰਕੁਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਾਈ ਗੁਹਾਰ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ 4 ਸਤੰਬਰ ( ਰਣਜੀਤ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ) : ਪਿੰਡ ਕਜੇਹੜੀ, ਸੈਕਟਰ-52 ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਹੋਟਲ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹਾਊਸ ਨੰਬਰ 233 ਅਤੇ 356 ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰੀ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸੜਕ ’ਤੇ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੁਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਮਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਸ ਵਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਇਸ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਥਾਈ ਹੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ। ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਾਣੀ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਂਗੂ-ਮਲੇਰੀਆ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਵੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਪੈਦਲ ਆਉਣ-ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਕਾਸੀ ਦਾ ਉਚਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਣਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ...
