Chandigarh 24 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Deputation Employees and JTA marched towards Governor House after not getting dearness allowance for two years. Demand was also made to give arrears and dearness allowance for pending two years from the state budget to teachers working in Samagra Shiksha. Employees on deputation from Punjab and Haryana of various cadres working in Chandigarh, including teachers, doctors, food and water supply, engineering department and joint teachers association took out a march towards the governor's house with various demands, however, due to the tight police arrangements, the employees were stopped on the way. Chandigarh UT Welfare Association (Deputationist) President Ranveer Jhorar said that not implementing dearness allowance for the employees on deputation for the last two years is sheer injustice. He said that there is a clear written order that if an employee comes on deputation in UT, then he will get dearness allowance of UT. Despite this, not releasing dearness allowance seems nothing but a conspiracy of the Chandigarh administration towards Punjab and Haryana. Ranveer said that today this is our first demonstration, if dearness allowance is not implemented soon, then the demonstration will be intensified in future. He said that we had demonstrated on February 7 last year regarding the deputation policy in which we had demanded that since we are not getting deputation allowance, our deputation is different from general deputation in which there is a time limit and as a result the Governor had ordered the Chandigarh Administration to prepare a new deputation policy for sending it to the Centre but till date it is not done. He said that the way the Chandigarh Administration is flouting the orders of the Governor, this will not be tolerated at all. We demand that strict action be taken against the officials who is responsible for this blunder. Joint Teachers Association Convener Dr. Ramesh Chand Sharma, Legal Adviser Arvind Rana and General Secretary Ajay Sharma said that not giving dearness allowance and arrears of the last two years to the 1000 government school teachers working in Samagra Shiksha is insensitive. They said that there are guidelines from the Ministry of Education, Project Approval Board that if the Chandigarh Administration wants, it can give DA from the state budget. Despite this, no meaningful solution has been found by the administration till now. Arvind Rana said that this is not a new thing that the administration cannot put its share in a 100% funded scheme. This has been done in PM Poshan Scheme Chandigarh for the last several years. The representatives said that if this can be done in one scheme, then why is the Chandigarh Administration not implementing it in the other scheme. He said that we demand that the administration should soon release the DA and the pending arrears of the last two years from the state budget so that the teachers can get their rights.
