SC Category Associations Stage Peaceful Protest Against HPCL’s Systemic Harassment; Memorandum Submitted to GM In-Charge

S.A.S.Nagar 25 July ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Today, a peaceful protest was organized outside the North Frontier Zone office of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in Mohali by the Core Committee of the Punjab Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) and various SC/BC social organizations. The demonstration was a united stand against the ongoing systemic harassment and constitutional violations faced by Scheduled Caste (SC) category dealerships across Punjab. Led by PPDA President Sandeep Sehgal, the protest witnessed strong participation from multiple SC Category Associations, who collectively demanded justice, transparency, and constitutional compliance from HPCL. 

During the protest, a comprehensive memorandum was formally handed over to M Rajender Kumar, General Manager In-Charge, North Frontier Zone, HPCL. The memorandum outlines eight non-negotiable directives, including: - Immediate cessation of targeted harassment  - Restoration of proprietary rights to SC dealers  - Reversal of unlawful terminations  - Investigation into benami operations and misuse of partnership structures  - Compliance with reservation policies and equitable market allocations  - Full support under the Corpus Fund Scheme  - Accountability for non-compliance with the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes (Case No. 733/2025) Following detailed discussions with HPCL officers, all stakeholders have unanimously resolved that if HPCL fails to address and resolve the SC Category Dealerships issues, an indefinite hunger strike will commence on August 18, 2025, at the same location. This peaceful protest marks a pivotal moment in the fight for equity and justice for SC category dealerships, reaffirming their constitutional rights and demanding institutional accountability from HPCL.
