Tying Rakhi to Soldiers Protecting the Nation is a Matter of Pride and Honour: Kamal Sisodia, Commandant
Chandigarh 8 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 13th Battalion, CRPF, located in Sector 43, celebrated the auspicious festival of Raksha Bandhan today with great enthusiasm and cultural dignity. On this occasion, members of the Brahma Kumaris, Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Sanstha, Voice of Women, and students of Shri Kulwant Rai Sarvhitkari Vidya Mandir School celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the brave soldiers, setting an emotional and inspiring example. The programme began with school children tying rakhis on the soldiers’ wrists and offering them sweets as a symbol of affection. The soldiers, deeply moved, blessed their sisters and pledged to protect them. On this occasion, the chief guest, Kamal Sisodia, Commandant, highlighted the significance of Raksha Bandhan in her address, saying that this festival not only strengthens the bond between brothers and sisters but also reinforces the spirit of unity, love, and security in society. She expressed that celebrating this festival with soldiers who guard the nation is truly a matter of pride and honour. The Brahma Kumaris also conducted a special session during the event, sharing thoughts on the harmony between spirituality and culture. They explained that Rakhi is not merely a thread, but a symbol of trust, love, and duty. The Bharatiya Sanskriti Gyan Sanstha also distributed raksha sutras on the occasion. The school principal and other teachers encouraged students to participate in such events, stating that these programmes strengthen patriotic feelings among the youth. At the end of the event, all dignitaries and participating organizations expressed their gratitude to the soldiers and appreciated the initiative. Everyone described the celebration as a memorable and inspiring experience. The event not only created an immediate emotional connection but also further strengthened the bond of warmth and trust between society and the armed forces.
