Remarkable performances by the students of Kendra in Parampara series at S.A.S.Nagar (Mohali)
S.A.S.Nagar 1 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Pracheen Kala is a non- profitable organization dedicated to promotion and propagation of art and culture has organized another episode of Parampara, a regular monthly series by the students of the Kendra here today in which the students showcase their talent. They presented vocal and instrumental performances under the guidance of our able teachers Sh. Pravesh Kumar and Sh. Devinder Singh. The programme was organized at Dr. Shobha Koser Indoor Auditorium at 4:00 pm onwards in S.A.S.Nagar (Mohali) complex of the Kendra . Dr. Samira Koser , Registrar was also present on this occasion. To prepare its students for stage performances Kendra has been organizing a monthly series of musical programs “Parampara” for its students. Under the guidance of the Music faculty of the Kendra , the students showcase their talent . In today's program, students under the direction of Pravesh Kumar and Davinder Singh won the audience's appreciation for their performances. Total 63 students from age 10 to 50 participated in this event.
Today’s event commenced with Saraswati Vandana with bols “'swaron mein ek swar mera mila do ' “under the direction of Guru Pravesh Kumar in which about 11 students participated. After this, a guitar performance consisting of 23 students based on Raga Bhairavi was presented. Then a trio guitar performance was given in Raga Bhairavi followed by a two solo guitar performances which was highly appreciated by the audience. In the next part of the programme, a group presentation based on Rag Bhairav, a pure classical music presentation followed by a bhajan prat bhayo jago followed by a bhajan meera magan bhayi was presented. In the last part of the program, a composition based on Raga Bihag, Ram Naam Raas pije was presented. The artists received a lot of applause by presenting a composition based on Raga Miyan Malhar, Umad Ghumad Aaye Badarwawhich was set to Vilambit Khayal in Ek Taal followed by another teen taal composition in Chhota Khayal with bols Phool Bagiyan Bahar Aayi were presented. After this, a bhajan Ab Mori Raho Laaj Hari was presented. This program was well appreciated by the audience. A brilliant accompaniment was provided by Rajneesh Dhiman on tabla and Pravesh Kumar on harmonium. Through such programmes, Kendra is contributing towards promotion and preservation of classical arts amongst the younger generation as well as making efforts towards increasing interest in classical music, which is praiseworthy. At the end of the program, Additional Registrar of the Kendra , Dr. Samira Koser encouraged the students with loving words and appreciated the hard work and efforts of the Gurus.
