Sur Sangam, Panchkula Pays Musical Tribute to Legendary Singer
Panchkula 27 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Sur Sangam, Panchkula organised a special musical evening titled “Remembering Mukesh: Main Na Bhooloonga” to commemorate the death anniversary of the legendary playback singer Mukesh. The event was held at PWD Rest House, Sector 1, Panchkula, where talented singers from Panchkula, Chandigarh, Pinjore, Patiala, and Karnal mesmerized the audience by performing Mukesh’s timeless classics through karaoke. A total of 25 singers, aged between 16 and 66, participated in both solo and duet performances, receiving great appreciation from the audience. Chief Guest Jagdeep Dhanda (HCS) and Guest of Honour Dr. Benu Rao (social activist) graced the occasion with their presence. Sur Sangam founder and event organiser Dr. Pradeep Bhardwaj opened the performances with Mukesh’s iconic numbers “Main Na Bhooloonga, Jis Gali Mein Tera Ghar” and “Tauba Ye Matwali Chaal." Other notable performances included Jagdeep Dhanda with “Dheere-Dheere Bol, Mehboob Mere” and “Kya Khoob Lagti Ho,” Dr. Rozy Aneja with “Chandan Sa Badan” and “Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai,” Dr. Raju Dhir with “Bhooli Hui Yaadon” and “Sansaar Hai Ek Nadiya,” Dr. Dheeraj Badial with“Jaane Kahaan Gaye Wo Din,” and Dr. Mahesh Mehra with “Koi Jab Tumhara Hriday”and “Kabhi Kabhi." The event also featured Dr. K.B. Mehta “Main Pal Do Pal Ka”, Ashok Dutt “Joshe Jawani Hai Re”, Rani Suman “O Mere Sanam”, Rajiv Verma “Taaron Mein Sajke Apna Suraj”, Kuldeep “Jo Tumko Ho Pasand”, along with memorable renditions by Sanjeev Kaura, R.C. Dass, and Nancy, who concluded the evening with “Main Na Bhooloonga.” Dr. Pradeep Bhardwaj stated that the event aimed to promote art and culture while providing a platform for emerging singers. It was also a heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer Mukesh.
