CU Punjab Celebrates Creativity and Entrepreneurship with Prototype Exhibition and expert talk
Bathinda 26 September ( PDL ) : The E-YUVA Centre and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at the Central University of Punjab organized a day-long celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship, featuring the “Creative Model and Prototype Exhibition 2025” and an expert talk on “Lab to Market: The Entrepreneur View.” Held under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 60 students from prominent schools, colleges, and the community. The programme began with an inaugural ceremony, where Prof. Tiwari lit the ceremonial lamp and interacted with young innovators displaying 19 working models and several posters in the Activity Hall. Students from reputed schools of Bathinda district, including DAV School, DPS School, GSSS Jhumbha, St. Xavier’s World School (NFL), and KV CUPB, showcased their creativity alongside participants from Guru Kashi University Bathinda, ISF College of Pharmacy Moga, MRSPTU Bathinda, and DAV College Bathinda. The exhibition featured innovative models and prototypes on themes such as waste management, life sciences, bioinformatics, agriculture, healthcare, robotics, green energy, and information technology. Highlights included Tesla Coil, Laser Leveller, Carbon Catcher, Automatic Energy Saver, Aqua Sensor, Smart Dustbin, Waste Segregator, Solar Car, Rain Sensor Technology, Robotic Seed Drill, Wireless Farm Security, and Wireless Electricity. Posters on waste management and life sciences further enriched the showcase. Entries were evaluated by a panel of judges on innovation, functionality, environmental impact, and entrepreneurial potential. The winners were felicitated with cash prizes. In the school category, Jasmeet, Pranav and Ashmeet (DPS School) and Anmol Chahat, Harshita and Anureet Kaur (St. Xavier’s World School) won ₹1000 for Best Models, while Manmeet Kaur and Kairavi Sehgal (St. Xavier’s World School) bagged ₹1500 for Best Prototype. Appreciation awards of ₹700 each were presented to Manjot Singh (DPS School), Navneet and Randeep (GSSS Jhumbha), and Taqdir, Rajan Preet Singh and Kunwar Inayat (KV CUPB). In the college category, Purnima and Satyabrata (MRSPTU Bathinda) won ₹1500 for Best Model, while Gursimran Singh (ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga) received ₹1000 for Best Poster. Among school participants, Ekamjot and Mannat (DPS School) secured ₹750 for Best Poster. The afternoon session featured an expert talk on “Lab to Market: The Entrepreneur View” by Mr. Lalit Sachdeva, Territory Manager at Sanofi Pvt. Ltd., Bathinda. He shared practical insights on converting lab-based innovations into commercially viable products, addressing challenges, opportunities, product development strategies, market research, and the role of networking. Participants engaged actively, seeking advice on transforming academic ideas into successful business ventures. On this occasion, Prof. Tiwari lauded the students for their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, encouraging them to continue innovating for societal benefit. Towards the conclusion, Prof. Monisha Dhiman, Co-ordinator E-YUVA Centre, extended gratitude to the speaker, participants, and organizers for making the programme a grand success. The event highlighted CU Punjab’s strong commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship, providing young minds with a platform to convert ideas into impactful solutions.
