By inducting his own loyalists into the party, Sukhbir is chasing false political glory : Jathedar Wadala
Sant Gurmeet Singh Tilokewala and Inder Mohan Singh Lakhmirwala were never even primary members of the Punar Surjeet Akali Dal
Chandigarh 15 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Senior leader and General Secretary of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjeet), Jathedar Gurpratap Singh Wadala, launched a sharp political attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal, calling him a leader who has fallen below all standards of political conduct and one who thrives on false publicity and hollow theatrics. Jathedar Wadala said it is shameful that Sukhbir Badal is now honoring his own supporters from within his faction and making false claims that leaders from the Punar Surjeet Akali Dal are joining his camp. “Those who have already lost the moral and political right to lead are now trying to create the illusion of popularity through their own men,” he added. He further said that this act once again reflects Sukhbir Badal’s habitual tendency of political bargaining, especially before the upcoming SGPC General Session. “This is the same old script of deals and deceit, being replayed under the guise of ‘homecoming’. It is nothing but another political transaction dressed up as reconciliation,” he remarked. Responding to Sukhbir Badal’s recent claim, Jathedar Wadala clarified that the statement made by Sukhbir on social media, in which he shared a photograph with Sant Gurmeet Singh Tilokewala and Sardar Inder Mohan Singh Lakhmirwala claiming they had rejoined the party, is completely false and misleading. “These two individuals never enrolled in the membership drive of the Punar Surjeet Akali Dal, nor did they ever hold primary membership. Hence, Sukhbir Badal’s claim is absolutely baseless and part of a deliberate attempt to mislead the Sikh community,” said Wadala. He advised Sukhbir Badal to give up this petty and dishonest style of politics, warning that such false claims only invite public ridicule. Jathedar Wadala also appealed to the media to verify the facts before publishing or broadcasting any such claims made by Sukhbir Badal.
