S.A.S.Nagar 5 November ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A joint meeting of the Punjab School Education Board Employees Association (Regd.) – Retiree Association and the Scheduled Caste Employees Association was held to deliberate on several important issues concerning both serving and retired employees of the Board. The meeting commenced with the Retiree Association extended warm congratulations to the newly elected Board Employees’ body. Retiree Association President Amar Singh Dhaliwal and General Secretary Gurmail Singh Maujowal, along with the President of the Scheduled Caste Employees Association Hardeep Singh Gill, expressed full faith in the new leadership. They stated that under the guidance of the current team, there is renewed hope for resolving long-pending issues of the Board’s officers and employees. In the presence of Parvinder Singh Khangura (President) and Parmjit Singh Benipal (General Secretary) of the Board Employees Association, all associations unanimously emphasized that the magnificent infrastructure and progressive growth of the Punjab School Education Board today are the result of the dedicated service, honesty, and hard work of retired employees over the years. Their invaluable contribution was acknowledged with deep respect and gratitude. During the meeting, the following major issues were discussed in detail: • Ban on entry of retired employees into the Board office: The decision was termed as unfortunate and unjust. Members demanded that the order be immediately withdrawn, stating that those who devoted their entire lives to the development of the Board deserve honor and free access to the institution they served faithfully. • Non-implementation of pay commission arrears from 1.1.2016 to July 2021: Concern was expressed that although the Punjab Government issued a notification granting arrears to retired employees from April 2025 and to serving employees from April 2026, the order has not yet been implemented in the Board office. The meeting unanimously demanded that the Board adopt and execute the government notification without any further delay. • Outstanding amount of ₹500 crore due from the Government to the Board: The members urged the Board to expedite efforts to secure this pending amount, emphasizing that it is crucial for strengthening the financial condition of the Board and fulfilling the legitimate dues of its employees. It was decided that to resolve these issues, the present Board Association will first establish direct dialogue with the Board management. If the discussions do not yield positive results, both the present and retiree associations, with the collective support of all employees, will frame the next course of action and launch a joint strategy to ensure that every demand is effectively addressed. The meeting reiterated that the current and retired employees are inseparable pillars of the Board. Their unity is the true strength of the institution, and together, they can overcome any administrative or policy challenge that may arise. In conclusion, the Board Association made it clear that there will be no compromise on employees’ rights, dignity, or future welfare. The Association’s commitment is not limited to raising demands—it stands firm on achieving practical and fair resolutions. All participating organizations collectively resolved to continue their united struggle until every legitimate issue is resolved in favor of the employees. Prominent members who attended the meeting included Bahadur Singh, Lakhbir Singh, Satnam Singh Satta, Gurcharan Singh Tarmala, Gurjeet Singh Bidowali, Seema Sood, Malkeet Singh Gaggad, and Surinder Singh.
