Chandigarh 16 November ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : CycleGiri celebrated World Prematurity Day with a vibrant “Ride in Saree” cyclothon led by Dr. Sunaina Bansal, Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. The event aimed to raise awareness about fitness, preventive health checks and early pregnancy care to reduce the risk of prematurity. The 10 km ride started from Motherhood Chaitanya, Sector 44, and concluded at Sukhna Lake, after being flagged off by former IMA president and Medical Director, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, along with Dr. Poonam Garg.
Over 100 women participated, showcasing that staying active and prioritising one’s health is essential for a healthy pregnancy and healthy babies. The saree-themed ride symbolised warmth, protection and resilience—qualities deeply connected with maternal care and the journey of premature infants. Dr. Sunaina Bansal said the initiative highlights that a mother’s well-being is her child’s first gift. Dr. Neeraj Kumar added that cycling in a saree reflects the balance and determination required in caring for premature newborns.
