Mohali Press Club presents Rs 1.51 lakh to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for flood victims
Meeting with GMADA and district officials soon to get land allotted for Press Club : Finance Minister
S.A.S.Nagar 13 November ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Mohali Press Club today presented Rs 1.51 lakh to Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for the Chief Minister's Flood Relief Fund to help flood-affected families of Punjab. Today, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema arrived at Mohali Press Club along with Mohali MLA S. Kulwant Singh. He thanked Mohali Press Club and said that this assistance provided by the club to the flood victims is a unique initiative and such small initiatives are proving helpful for the flood victims of Punjab. On this occasion, the Finance Minister, in response to the demand letter submitted by the Mohali Press Club for the establishment of the Mohali Press Club, said that in the coming days he will hold a meeting with the Punjab Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, GMADA and district officials, in which the constituency MLA Kulwant Singh will also be specially present. He said that Mohali is the most modern and emerging industrial and commercial center of Punjab, which is connected internationally through the international airport, cricket stadium and hockey stadium. Being a major media center, the existence of a press club in Mohali is necessary, which will be completed soon. On this occasion, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh said that GMADA has reserved land for public services and they can also give land to the press club. He said that a press club should be established in Mohali and he will make full efforts. On this occasion, the President of the Press Club Sukhdev Singh Patwari and General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Shahi appealed to the Finance Minister and MLA to quickly establish a press club in Mohali, which is becoming a press hub, so that journalists and people can get better facilities. He said that Mohali Press Club was established in 1999 and since 2007 this club has been running in a rented house, where journalists have access to internet, computers and kitchen facilities. On this occasion Gurmeet Singh PCS.
