Second Jain Carnival Held, Filled With Social Unity and Religious Spirit
Jain Carnival organized to increase awareness about Jain food system in the society: Dharam Bahadur Jain
Chandigarh 3 November ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The second Jain Carnival, imbued with social unity and religious spirit, was successfully organized at the Shri Digambar Jain Temple, Sector 27. Dharam Bahadur Jain, President of the Shri Digambar Jain Society, stated that the event was inaugurated by N.K. Jain (retired IAS). A total of 32 attractive stalls were set up, with women and youth from the community enthusiastically participating. Over 450 people attended the carnival. Everyone praised the initiative of the Shri Digambar Jain Society and urged them to organize more such events. Food stalls were set up by Smita Jain, Anamika Jain, Amita Jain, Vineeta Jain, Sandhya Jain, Seema Jain, Rupinder Kaur, Manpreet Ratia, and Pooja Jain. These housewives prepared a variety of delicious dishes, including golgappas, kachoris, dahi bhalle, paneer rolls, Manchurian, cakes, and pastries.
All food items were prepared in accordance with Jain tradition, without onions and potatoes. Clothing stalls were set up by Ritu Bhandari, Pooja Bonthra, Pooja Jain, and Manju Shukla, showcasing sarees, kurtis, bedsheets, and handmade woolen garments from Ahmedabad. Games stalls were run by Urvashi, Pooja Jain, and Drishti Jain, who entertained the children and youth. Dharam Bahadur Jain explained that the purpose of this event was to raise awareness about the Jain dietary system in society, unite people, and expose children to diverse life experiences. Prominent members present on behalf of the society included Advocate Adarsh Jain, Neeraj Jain, Vijay Jain, Sharad Jain, Dr. Ashish Jain, Advocate Alok Jain, and other dignitaries. Finally, seeing the enthusiasm of the people, Dharam Bahadur Jain announced that the carnival would now be held twice a year, so that more members of the community could benefit from it.
