150 people donated blood in the blood donation camp organized for thalassemic patients
Chandigarh 2 December ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Saheb 2 Karam Association organized the 12th annual blood donation camp for thalassemic patients in collaboration with the Blood Bank-PGI and the Gurdwara Management Committee, Shahpur Sector 38. Over 150 people donated blood to save the lives of thalassemic patients. Kuljit Singh Mintu, director of Saheb 2 Karam Association, said that his younger son Karam was thalassemic. His elder son Saheb donated bone marrow to his younger brother Karam. With Baba Ji's blessing Karam has now completely recovered. Thanking Baba Ji, he has been organizing blood donation camps for the last 11 years and this is the 12th blood donation camp. People participated enthusiastically and over 250 people were registered, but only 150 were able to donate blood. He said that blood donation is considered a great donation because it can save someone's life. Blood donation does not cause any harm to the donor, rather it gets ready automatically as per its process within 3 months. Tara Singh, Jaspal Singh Lucky, Gurnam Singh Saini, Harjinder Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Baby Gurnaaz Kaur and Gundeep Kaur along with Vineet Khukhriyan were also present on the occasion.
