AAP’s anti-Dalit and anti-women mindset at its peak; party rewards a convicted MLA : Chugh
Kejriwal government’s double standards fully exposed before Punjab : Tarun Chugh
Chandigarh 1 December ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh launched a fierce attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that the moral collapse of the Maan government has now reached a point where even convicted individuals are being promoted. Chugh said the most shameful example of this downfall is the inclusion of Khadoor Sahib AAP MLA Manjinder Singh Lalpura in the district committee for the Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections. He added that shielding offenders and elevating them has sadly become AAP’s new political culture. Chugh reminded that this is the same MLA who was convicted by a court in 2022 for molesting and threatening a Dalit woman. The case was registered, the chargesheet was filed, evidence was presented during a full trial, and the court unambiguously held Lalpura guilty. Yet, for the Aam Aadmi Party, protecting its own MLA seemed far more important than safeguarding the dignity of a Dalit woman. Chugh said that Arvind Kejriwal never misses a chance to make lofty claims about Dalit rights and women’s safety on camera. But the moment the issue concerns his own convicted MLA, he chooses silence. Chugh added that nothing exposes AAP’s hypocrisy more clearly than this — the very man who violated the dignity of a Dalit woman is now being entrusted with responsibilities for an important electoral process. According to Chugh, this is no mistake; it reflects AAP’s true mindset and character. Tarun Chugh said that within AAP’s politics, the safety of women and respect for Dalits exist only in speeches and posters. On the ground, the reality is starkly different: AAP saves its accused and convicted legislators, offers them protection, and now even rewards them openly. Chugh said the people of Punjab have understood that AAP’s talk of women’s security and Dalit dignity is nothing more than political theatre. Chugh concluded by saying that Punjab will never forgive a party whose decisions reflect a clear anti-Dalit and anti-women mentality. He said, “The people of Punjab are wise. A party that hands out responsibilities to offenders instead of delivering justice to victims will be firmly rejected in the coming elections.”
