Dr. Sapna Nanda Appointed as Regular Principal of Chandigarh’s Govt. College of Education
Chandigarh 2 December ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Dr. Sapna Nanda, Associate Professor has been promoted as the first UPSC-appointed regular Principal of Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh, w.e.f. December 1, 2025 by the office of Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration. She was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2002 by UPSC and was given the additional charge of Principal of Govt. College of Yoga Health & Education, Chandigarh in 2019. Thereafter she was given the additional charge of looking after the work of Principal of Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh in 2022. Under her able guidance and leadership, the college achieved an A+ grade during the 3rd phase of NAAC Assessment Cycle in 2024. Dr. Nanda has received recognition for her meritorious contributions in the field of yoga, health and wellness including a State award from the Chandigarh Administration in 2021. She has also published numerous research papers and authored several books on Yoga, Health and Education and recently been received a Patent for an invention entitled: An Oral synergistic formulation for Management of Diabetes and related Complications in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act, 1970. Dr. Sapna Nanda is also an active member of Health and Wellness Focus group of Chandigarh Citizens Foundation, Sapt Sindhu Foundation, and participates in various activities of Aahar Kranti Movement of Nivedita Trust.
