Gurseerat Kaur felicitated for National Boxing Championship
Chandigarh 5 June ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : 15-year old Gurseerat Kaur, Class 10 student of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior secondary school Sector 35 B Chandigarh was felicitated by Union minister for labour & employment, youth affairs & sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria. The department of sports, Chandigarh administration, organised a felicitation ceremony on Saturday to honour athletes who brought glory to the city at national and international levels. Gurseerat had won a Gold Medal in the 3rd Sub Junior National Boxing Championship held in Greater Noida on 25th March, 2024. She was also awarded the title of ‘Best Boxer in UT’ by the Chandigarh Amateur Boxing Association, Chandigarh, on 9th March, 2024. Gurseerat had also bagged a gold medal in the 67+ category in the 3rd Sub Junior National Boxing Championship-2024. Gurseerat’s coach is Dr Bhagwant Singh and her father Kanwal Deep Singh is working as the Chief Security Officer at Fortis Hospital Mohali.
