Chandigarh 6 August ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Chandigarh city is going to be the first and only city in the country where the country's biggest and first of its kind "Mermaid Carnival" is going to be held. In which foreign sea scuba divers will attract and thrill the visitors with their acrobatics and stunts. This team of around 20 members is fully trained and accredited. The entrance of the carnival itself is attractive and grand. Huge hoardings with cut-outs of mermaids will automatically attract people. As soon as one enters the entrance, one will get to see glimpses of mermaids frolicking. Giving more information about the "Jalpari Carnival" to be held from 07 August 2025 at Housing Board Light Point Dussehra Ground, Apex International Directors Sunil Goyal and Alankeshwar Bhaskar said that they always try to give something different and new to the city dwellers.
In view of this, this time Mermaid i.e. Jalpari Carnival has been organized. He told that Mermaid is an imaginary aquatic creature which has the head and torso of a woman and in place of legs in the lower part, there is the tail of a fish. Mermaids are found in many stories and legends. People always remain excited and curious to know and see about them. This Jalpari Carnival will satisfy this curiosity of the people. Here, more than 20 trained foreign sea scuba divers will thrill and attract the visitors coming to the carnival with their acrobatics and stunts. He said that the Jalpari Carnival will be inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh BJP co-incharge and former state president of Chandigarh BJP unit Sanjay Tandon with his lotus hands tomorrow, Thursday, 07 August 2025. 
Alankeshwar Bhaskar told that 6 boxes have been prepared in a 60×120 feet dome in which these foreign sea divers will give their performance.Apart from this, toys and games for children will be available along with swings in the carnival. The main attraction of the fair will be the grand entrance and swings. Stalls of home decor, furniture, handloom, handicraft, food stalls etc. have also been set up for shopping in the carnival. Special arrangements have also been made for children and adults to take selfies with cut outs of famous characters in the carnival. He further said that apart from routine swings like Giant Wheel, Columbus Boat, Diana Carter, Caterpillar, Break Dance, Boating, foreign swings like Double Disc and Striking Car have been included for the first time as main attractions in the swings. There will also be stage performances every evening in the carnival. In which anyone from the public can present their artistic talent.
