CBOA General Secretary Shri Ravi Kumar K Visits Chandigarh – Lauds Employees, Discusses Officers’ Welfare, and Inspires Unity at Members Meet
Chandigarh 21 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In a landmark two-day program on September 20–21, 2025, Shri Ravi Kumar K, General Secretary of the Canara Bank Officers’ Association (CBOA), visited Chandigarh and engaged with employees and officers of Canara Bank. His visit was marked by appreciation of employees’ contributions, discussion of industry issues, and a call for collective progress. At the Canara Bank Circle Office, Chandigarh, Ravi Kumar K interacted with staff and delivered an inspiring address. He commended employees for their relentless commitment and highlighted their role as the backbone of the bank’s success.“If the business of Canara Bank is increasing day by day, it is only because of the contribution of each and every employee. The balance sheet of Canara Bank is not prepared in the boardroom, but by every employee who works tirelessly on the ground,” he remarked. He also celebrated the success of the ‘Each One Source Ten’ campaign, under which the bank mobilized ₹18,000 crore deposits in just three months. Calling it “another feather in the cap of Canara Bank”, he emphasized that this milestone was achieved due to teamwork between staff and management. Addressing officers’ welfare, he expressed optimism on several issues:
Five-Day Banking: A progressive step aligning Indian banking with global standards.
Work-Life Balance: Constructive discussions underway to enhance officers’ well-being.
Performance Linked Incentive (PLI): A motivational scheme that must continue to evolve transparently and rewardingly.
Industrial Issues: Ongoing initiatives in staffing, career progression, and technology upgrades showing encouraging results. He further recognized the Chandigarh CBOA Unit as the strongest in India and invited members to the Members Meet at Hotel Pearl on September 21, 2025. The Members Meet, held at Hotel Pearl, Industrial Area, Chandigarh, witnessed a large and enthusiastic participation of officers and staff. The Chief Guest, Manoj Kumar Das, General Manager, Canara Bank Circle Office, Chandigarh, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering. He praised the contribution of officers in strengthening Canara Bank’s performance and resilience. “The real strength of Canara Bank lies in its people. Your dedication, professionalism, and teamwork have ensured the bank’s growth even in challenging times. The officers’ association has played a vital role in fostering unity and ensuring that the concerns of employees are addressed in a constructive manner,” said Shri Das. He further highlighted the importance of adapting to new challenges: “As the banking industry undergoes rapid transformation, our officers must continue to embrace digital technologies, focus on customer-centric service, and build capabilities for the future. With this spirit, Canara Bank will continue to stand tall among the leading public sector banks in India.” Ravi Kumar K, in his keynote address at the Members Meet, reiterated that the strength of Canara Bank lies in its people. He encouraged officers to stay united under the CBOA banner and continue working with passion for the growth of the institution. “This CBOA is not led by a me — it is led by you, the people who make Canara Bank what it is,” he reminded members, drawing loud applause from the audience. The event also included interactive sessions where officers voiced their views on staffing, digital transformation, work-life balance, and welfare initiatives. The dialogue reinforced CBOA’s role as a bridge between management and staff. Concluding the event, the Chandigarh Circle Unit leadership extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to Ravi Kumar K and Manoj Kumar Das for their motivating words and guidance, and to the members for their spirited participation.
