Chandigarh 21 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Chitkara University’s Department of Education (DoE) welcomed renowned actor Sourabh Raaj Jain as the keynote speaker for the B.Ed. orientation. Jain is celebrated for his versatile performances in Indian television and cinema. Best known for his iconic portrayal of Lord Krishna in Mahabharat, which won him nationwide acclaim and the Best Actor in a Lead Role award, Jain has also delivered remarkable performances as Lord Shiva in Mahakali and in a negative role in Chandragupta Maurya. He will soon be seen portraying Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in an upcoming film. Themed “An Illuminating Swayam Vichaar Kijiye (Reflect on Your Own Thoughts) for Future Gurus”, the orientation set an inspiring tone for aspiring educators beginning their professional journeys. The event commenced with the welcome address, Golden Nuggets, delivered by the Chancellor, Dr. Ashok K. Chitkara, followed by reflections from the Pro-Chancellor Dr. Madhu Chitkara. During her address, Dr. Madhu Chitkara highlighted the vital role of teachers in building society, “Educators must stay abreast of emerging educational trends, particularly when teaching digital-native learners with evolving attention spans. The knowledge and skills gained at Chitkara University’s Department of Education will empower graduates to drive meaningful change in the field of education.”Addressing the students, Jain shared thought-provoking insights into education, creativity, and holistic development, “Education is not just about teaching subjects—it is about nurturing individuality, emotional intelligence, and creativity.
