70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism: Winners list out! 'Missing Ladies' wins Best Film, Abhishek Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan win Best Actor (Male), while 'I Want to Talk' wins Best Film (Critics)

Chandigarh 13 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025, presented by Gujarat Tourism, dazzled at the EKA Arena, Kankaria Lake, Ahmedabad, on October 11th. The special night featured Bollywood's biggest stars, stellar performances, and heartwarming tributes. It was an edition that celebrated the talent and creativity of Hindi cinema. "Missing Ladies" won Best Film. Abhishek Bachchan for "I Want to Talk" and Kartik Aaryan for "Chandu Champion" jointly won Best Actor (Male). Alia Bhatt won Best Actor (Female) for "Jigra." The evening celebrated talent, glamour, and remarkable achievements in cinema. The evening began with a spectacular drone show that illuminated the Ahmedabad skyline. The show beautifully depicted the journey of Hindi cinema through the decades. The atmosphere then became vibrant and glamorous with Shah Rukh Khan making his grand entry to the title track of "Jawaan," making the star-studded night even more special. Akshay Kumar began his performance with his iconic song "Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan Mein Rehte Ho" and dedicated it to Filmfare. He then delivered powerful performances of "Tip Tip Barsa Paani," "Chura Ke Dil Mera," and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa." He concluded his energetic act with a rousing dance performance of "Aje Rokda Ne Udhar Kale," which had the audience grooving.

Ananya Panday paid tribute to the colorful beats and heritage of Gujarat by performing songs like "Dholida," "Udi Udi Jaaye," and "Nagade Sang Dhol." The atmosphere was further livened up when Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar joined the stage and danced to the tunes of "Gujju," leaving the audience in splits. Kriti Sanon gave a glamorous tribute to Zeenat Aman, performing her iconic songs like "Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko," "Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye," and "Laila O Laila." Abhishek Bachchan paid tribute to his father, Amitabh Bachchan, in a special way, performing hit songs like "Apni To Jaise Taise," "Khaike Paan Banaras Wala," and "Jumma Chumma." Siddhant Chaturvedi paid tribute to the dance legends of Bollywood and won the hearts of the audience with his amazing dance moves on evergreen songs like 'Chahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe', 'Julie Julie', 'Aap Ke Aa Jane Se' and 'Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara'. An emotional moment occurred when the entire auditorium joined Shah Rukh Khan in wishing Amitabh Bachchan a happy birthday. Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda were also present in the audience for the special occasion. The most emotional and memorable moment of the evening came when Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol joined the stage and relived their iconic on-screen moments from "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham," and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai." The audience was left with a wave of nostalgia. The night's surprises only increased when host Maniesh Paul arrived in the audience and invited Sanju Rathod to the stage to perform. He set the arena on fire with his hit songs like "Shaky Shaky" and "Gulabi Sari." Later, after winning the Best Actor (Critics) award, Rajkummar Rao shared a light moment on stage with Shah Rukh Khan and Maniesh Paul. The trio delighted the audience by performing the hook step to the song "Aayi Nayi" from "Stree 2." The most emotional moment of the night came when Abhishek Bachchan received his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Male) for "I Want to Talk." He took the stage and delivered a heartfelt speech, which received a standing ovation from the audience and his colleagues.
The 70th Filmfare Awards honored outstanding talent in several categories. In the acting category, Rajkummar Rao won the Best Actor (Critics) award for "Shrikant," while Pratibha Ranta won the Best Actress (Critics) award for her stellar performance in "Lapata Ladies." Ravi Kishan won Best Supporting Actor (Male) for "Lapata Ladies," and Chhaya Kadam won Best Supporting Actor (Female) for the same film. The Best Film (Critics) award went to "I Want to Talk." Kiran Rao was honored for her excellent storytelling and direction with "Missing Ladies." In the music category, Ram Sampath won the Best Music Album award. Prashant Pandey was honored with Best Lyrics. Arijit Singh won Best Playback Singer (Male) and Madhubanti Bagchi won Best Playback Singer (Female) for "Sajni" and "Aaj Ki Raat." These songs resonated with audiences across the country. The winners of the technical and writing awards, announced at an earlier press conference, were also honored at the awards night. Films such as "Kill," "Missing Ladies," "Article 370," "I Want to Talk," and "Munjya" were praised for their artistic and technical excellence. Among the winners, "Missing Ladies" won 13 awards, followed by "Kill" with six and "I Want to Talk" with three. Kunal Kemmu won Best Debut Director for "Madgaon Express," and Aditya Suhas Jambhale won for "Article 370." The evening also paid tribute to the legacy of cinema. Zeenat Aman and Shyam Benegal were presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their outstanding contributions to Hindi cinema. The night also featured a special segment, the "Cine Icon Awards," which honored the journey of cinema over the decades. Icons from each era were remembered—Bimal Roy, Dilip Kumar, and Meena Kumari from the 1950s; Nutan from the 1960s; Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and Ramesh Sippy from the 1970s; Sridevi from the 1980s; and Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Karan Johar from the 1990s. All these tributes together beautifully present the glorious journey of Hindi cinema and the legends who took it to new heights in every era.
Additionally, several prominent figures from the entertainment industry graced the red carpet with their presence. These included Jackie Shroff, Lakshya, Kajol, Jaya Bachchan, Sunny Leone, Harshvardhan Rane, Huma Qureshi, Anupam Kher, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Sunny Singh, and Nitanshi Goyal, among others. In a special moment, Vineet Jain, Managing Director, The Times Group, unveiled the logo of The Indian Pickleball League, symbolizing the sport's growing presence in the country. The association has been recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, granting PWR India permission to launch India's first national franchise-based pickleball league.
