Chandigarh 1 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Chandigarh Municipal Corporation's Senior Deputy Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillor Premlata staged a sit-in protest outside the Mayor's office. They staged a sit-in protest with three different banners in their hands. Senior Deputy Mayor Bunty said that we should stop exploiting the Municipal Corporation employees who are cleaning our city. The officers are suspending them every day without any reason. Deputy Mayor Tarun Mehta said that down with the mayor who caused the Manimajra scandal. He said that the joining plan ofCouncilor Premlata said that the 24x7 water supply project that the government had brought has completely failed. Manimajra made by the Chandigarh administration was completely wrong and there should be an impartial investigation into this. And all the councillors want this project to be cancelled so that the public is not forced to do so because in Manimajra, people are still not getting clean water nor are they getting it on time, but they are being forced to do so by imposing taxes on them. Bunty said that the Mayor threw us out of the House meeting, but we have 29 days left and we will continue to talk about the development of the city. The Mayor can throw us out of the House but cannot remove us from the hearts of the people. We will always speak on the issue of development.
