Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig announced the commencement of the championship.

Chandigarh 11 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The 32nd National Men’s and Women’s Circle Kabaddi Championship, continuing from October 11 to 13, was formally inaugurated today at Panjab University. The event has been organized by the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India. The championship was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, former Member of Parliament from Chandigarh and Additional Solicitor General of India, Satya Pal Jain, while Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig was present as the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, former Mayor of Chandigarh and President of the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India, Davesh Moudgil and General Secretary since 1978, J.P. Sharma, welcomed the guests and players. After the formal announcement of the commencement of the championship, former MP and Additional Solicitor General of India, Mr. Satya Pal Jain, congratulated the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India for organizing this national Kabaddi Kumbh and extended his best wishes to all the men and women players who have come from across the country. He said that today, through sports, the youth are making India proud at the international level. He stated that our objective is to connect the youth with the national mainstream through sports and thereby build a developed, healthy and prosperous India. Jain said that sports inculcate discipline, self-confidence and a sense of pride among the youth. He also appreciated the Federation organization of this event with the slogan “Stay Away from Drugs, Live Life to the Fullest” and called upon all the participating players to carry the campaign for drug eradication to every corner of society.

Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig welcomed all the players who have come from across the country to this Kabaddi Kumbh at Panjab University and assured every possible support for the development of sports. She said that Panjab University is an excellent nursery for young athletes, which has produced many national and international players for the country. She added that in the future as well, Panjab University will continue to provide modern technology and infrastructure for the development of sports. Former Mayor of Chandigarh and President of the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India, Davesh Moudgil and General Secretary J.P. Sharma said that the Amateur Circle Kabaddi Federation of India is a leading organization dedicated to the promotion and development of indigenous sports like Circle Kabaddi across the country. Federation President Davesh Moudgil, supporting the anti-drug campaign “Stay Away from Drugs, Live Life to the Fullest” initiated by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, said that this national championship is a contribution to the campaign against drugs. The Federation not only works at the grassroots level to nurture talent but also represents India at the national and international levels Teams from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, and Assam will participate in this Kabaddi Kumbh.
