SBI DONATES FUNDS TO FOUR STATES FOR FLOOD RELIEF
Chandigarh 6 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The country largest Bank, State Bank of India having its Local Head Office at Chandigarh which is controlling its Branches in four states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir donates a sum of Rs. 1.55 Crores each to these four states as a relief fund for recent disastrous floods effecting the common people and infrastructure of these states. The funds have been generated by donating one day’s privilege leave by the Officers and Employees of SBI, Chandigarh Circle. On 4th Oct 2025, the cheques of Rs. 1.55 Crores was handed over to Chief Ministers of Punjab Sh Bhagwant Mann and CM of Haryana Sh Nayab Singh Saini by the senior Officials and Trade Union representatives of SBI Chandigarh Circle. Both the Chief Ministers praised the initiative of SBI and its officers/employees for donating the funds for flood relief. The Chief General Manager of SBI Chandigarh Krishan Sharma along with General Managers of its Network-I and II Manmeet Singh Chabra, Neeraj Bharati and from Officers Association Priyavrat its General Secretary, Rajiv Sirhindi, President, Kajal Bhowmik, Dy General Manager (HR) and Rakesh Kaushal from SBI Staff Association were also present during the occasion. The initiative to donate one day’s privilege leave was taken by the Officers Association and Staff Association of SBI Chandigarh Circle immediately after the floods and the amount generated out of it has been donated equally to all the four states.
