The 18% GST on the sale and purchase of used vehicles should be reduced to 5% : JS Neyol, National President

Chandigarh 8 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : In the 25th Annual General Meeting of All India Car Dealers Association (AICDA) held here today, the National President of the Association JS Neol said that the business of car market and dealers is worth Rs 4 lakh crore annually across the country and lakhs of families are earning their livelihood from this business, but still this business is a victim of complete neglect. JS Neol, who is also the National Vice President of INTUC, an organization of workers, presided over the program and later while addressing a press conference, discussed with the journalists about the challenges and problems faced by the businessmen of the car market across the country.
JS Neol stated that the government has not made any changes to the 18% GST on the sale and purchase of used vehicles, which is unjust. He demanded that it be reduced to 5%, which would significantly facilitate the operations of car market traders. JS Neol also demanded the repeal of the provision of account freezing for making third-party payments. He also appealed to car market traders to obtain GST numbers soon to facilitate their business. JS Neol supported the demand for a proper place for Chandigarh's car market traders and assured to raise their voice on the appropriate platform. On this occasion, the local president of the association, Gyaneshwar Jain Shanky, while welcoming the car dealers from Chandigarh as well as Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, appealed to them to obtain GST number, so that it becomes easier for them to do business and the government can also find it easier to resolve the problems of this business. On this occasion, Senior Vice Presidents of Chandigarh Car Dealers Association Harvinder Singh and Karanbir Singh (Tika), Vice Presidents Tajinder Singh and Harendra Singh, General Secretary Gurjeet Singh and Joint Secretary Sunny Singh, Vice President Ravi Malhotra from Kharar and Vice President Kuldeep Singh from Solan etc. were also present.
