Chandigarh 15 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : At the call of the CMC Horticulture Traders Union, a gate meeting was held today at the Horticulture Booth in Sector 13 (Mani Majra). Union President and Federation General Secretary Harkesh Chand, Union General Secretary M.M. Subrahmanyam, Chairman Nihal, Vice President Budhram, Member Bhag Singh Singh, Federation President Rajendra Katoch, Vice President and Public Health President Harpal Singh, Joint Secretaries Vihari Lal and Naseeb Singh, Federation President Gopal Dutt Joshi, and others addressed the meeting, urging people to demonstrate their unity by attending the Dharna on November 12th, 2025, in large numbers to ensure the implementation of their pending demands. He said that on the one hand, the Federation and the CMC Horticulture Workers Union are demanding the restoration of the old pension system, the regularization of all temporary employees who have completed 10 years, and the inclusion of all temporary employees under the equal pay system until they are confirmed, amendments to the rules to quickly fill promotional positions, the cancellation of the privatization of government and semi-government departments, the cancellation of the decision to hand over parks and green belts managed by the Horticulture Department to societies, the cancellation of ongoing employee layoffs, the immediate allocation of expired tenders in the MC Engineering Department, the cancellation of the exploitation of employees by contractors, and the payment of salaries on time and bonuses and DA before Diwali. On the other hand, some forces, acting as puppets of the administration and anti-employee officials, are trying to break the unity of the employees. They are also misusing the name of the union and engaging in illegal extortion from employees. He appealed to employees to be wary of such misleading propaganda, to thwart the plans of anti-employee forces seeking to break employee unity, and to participate in large numbers in the Dharna being called by the Federation on November 12, 2025.
