Chandigarh 1 October ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : On the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Navratri, the festival of Mahanavami was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Jai Mata Kinnar Mandir, Bapudham Sector 26. Param Pujyapad Jai Mata Mandir Peethadheeshwar Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Under the supervision of Maa Kamalinanda Giri Ji Maharaj Shri Shri Kinnar Akhara, Kanya pujan was performed in the temple premises and the mother was anointed with water from 108 pots. Param Pujyapad Jai Mata Mandir Peethadheeshwar Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Maa Kamalinand Giri Ji Maharaj said that the festival of Navratri was celebrated with great reverence and devotion in the temple.
Nine priests of the temple worshipped the nine forms of the Mother Goddess with devotion for nine days. He said that during Navratri, on the occasion of Mahanavami, 108 girls and about 50 boys were worshipped. Apart from this, more than 50 married women were given Suhaag Chuda and ladies suits. After worshipping Mother Cow, she was offered Pongal Prasad. The idol of Tirupati Balaji prepared from grains and fruits was worshipped by Brahmins. After this, Purnahuti Shatchandi Mahayagna was performed and the Mother Goddess was also anointed with water from 108 pots.
