The Madhya Pradesh government is giving a pension of Rs. 30,000 and the BJP government in Haryana is giving Rs. 20,000 per month : Hardev Singh Ubha

Chandigarh 25 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab state press secretary Hardev Singh Ubha has said that the Punjab government is continuously doing injustice to the freedom fighters who were imprisoned during the Emergency in the country. He said that these warriors who sacrificed their lives to protect democracy during the Emergency have not yet received the respect and pension they deserve.

Ubha stated that pension schemes for freedom fighters during the Emergency are in place in several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, but the matter has always been ignored in Punjab. He said that the brave fighters who suffered for years in prisons are still forced to wander from place to place in their old age.

BJP leader Hardev Ubha said that the Bhagwant Mann government should provide a pension of Rs 30,000 per month, just like the BJP governments in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. Hardev Singh Ubha said that emergency period veterans are being given pensions ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 rupees in various states, but the Punjab government has not taken any concrete steps in this regard. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of only making promises, while nothing has been done on the ground.

Hardev Singh Ubha demanded that the Punjab government immediately implement a pension scheme for those who fought during the Emergency and grant them the respect they deserve. He said that the BJP will continue to fight for the rights of those who fought against the Emergency and will keep raising its voice until justice is served.
