ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰੇੰਜ ਅਤੇ ਯੈਲੋ ਅਲਰਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ 18 ਜਨਵਰੀ ( ਰਣਜੀਤ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ) : ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀਤ ਲਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਧੁੰਦ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਧੁੰਦ ਪੈਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅੱਜ 18 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਓਰੇਂਜ ਅਤੇ ਯੈਲੋ ਅਲਰਟ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਵੀ ਜਤਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਓਰੇਂਜ ਅਲਰਟ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਪਠਾਨਕੋਟ, ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ, ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ, ਜਲੰਧਰ, ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ, ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ, ਬਠਿੰਡਾ, ਮਾਨਸਾ, ਬਰਨਾਲਾ, ਸੰਗਰੂਰ, ਮੋਗਾ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਯੈਲੋ ਅਲਰਟ ਰਹੇਗਾ। 19 ਅਤੇ 20 ਤਾਰੀਖ਼ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ, ਜਲੰਧਰ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਸੀਤ ਲਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਯੈਲੋ ਅਲਰਟ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ 19 ਜਨਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ 22 ਤਾਰੀਖ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪਠਾਨਕੋਟ, ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ, ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ, ਅ...

Demand for clarification of the situation regarding the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation election process : Jasbir Bunty
Chandigarh 17 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Confusion has arisen regarding the election process for the upcoming Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections, scheduled to be held on January 29, 2026. While administrative notifications and public statements mention voting by a show of hands, a letter issued by the Municipal Corporation Secretariat refers to one-by-one voting (individual voting).
The Honorable Governor had previously stated publicly that this time the municipal corporation elections would be conducted through a show of hands. The Chandigarh administration also conveyed the same information through the media. Furthermore, a formal notification has been issued through notification number MC/Secretary/2026/21 dated 13.01.2026 (Agenda Branch).
However, a letter recently issued by the Municipal Corporation Secretary's office appoints Ramnik Singh Bedi as the presiding officer and states that the election process will be conducted through one-by-one voting. The mention of two different procedures for the same election has created confusion among the elected members and public representatives.
Regarding this matter, Senior Deputy Mayor Jasbir Singh Bunty has urged the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh to issue clear guidelines on the election process. He stated that it is essential to issue uniform and clear instructions regarding the election procedure to maintain the transparency and fairness of the democratic process.
They have urged the administration to clarify whether the municipal elections will be conducted by a show of hands, as per the issued notification, or through individual voting, in order to avoid any confusion or controversy.
