Chandigarh 12 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great pomp. Lohri is a festival that promotes mutual love and brotherhood. On the occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti, the Omkar Charitable Foundation celebrated the festival of Lohri and Makar Sankranti with great joy and pomp on Monday with special children. The members of the foundation lit the Lohri and then circumambulated around it and wished for a happy future and the welfare of the human society. During this, the children thoroughly enjoyed the festival through traditional songs and dances. This festival of Lohri filled the entire atmosphere with happiness, enthusiasm and mutual brotherhood.
Onkar Charitable Foundation Chairman Ravindra Singh Billa wished everyone a happy Lohri and Makar Sankranti. He explained that the foundation's members strive to celebrate every festival, be it Diwali, Rakshabandhan, or Lohri, with special and needy children. Therefore, this time too, Lohri and Makar Sankranti were celebrated with special children by distributing peanuts, rewadi, gajak, and warm clothes. He said that the Lohri festival symbolizes mutual brotherhood. We should all celebrate these festivals together. Everyone celebrates festivals in their families, but celebrating festivals with special children brings them immense joy. Everyone should continue such efforts. On this occasion, officials of Omkar Charitable Foundation, Jaswinder Kaur and social worker Jyoti along with acting manager of Punjab and Singh Bank Darshpreet Kaur and Sandeep Singh etc. were also present.
