S.A.S.Nagar 10 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Mohali Press Club, a renowned organization of journalists, organized the 19th annual "Dhiyan De Lohri" cultural festival at Palki Resort. Renowned artists from Punjab showcased their talents, leaving a unique and lasting impression. Transport Minister Mr. Laljit Singh Bhullar attended the event as chief guest, while area MLA Kulwant Singh presided over it.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Transport MLA Laljit Singh Bhullar first honored the girls - Smriti Verma, Manpreet Kaur, Mansi Joshi, Mehak, Mehak Sharma, Jashandeep Kaur, Mansi, Sarika Gupta, and Simarjeet Kaur - who have brought glory to the area and their parents in the field of education. On this occasion, Laljit Bhullar said that celebrating Lohri for daughters is a very good initiative by the club, for which he congratulates all the club members. He praised the changing attitude towards daughters in society. He said that today, daughters are making a significant contribution to the progress of our society and country, and we should also contribute to the development of society by providing better education to our daughters. He said that our talented girls have surpassed men in many fields. He added that men need to change their attitude towards women. After this, Cabinet Minister Mr. Laljit Singh Bhullar released the souvenir of the Mohali Press Club. During this, the Minister announced a government grant of Rs 2 lakh to Mohali Press Club.
On this occasion, special guest Kulwant Singh honored Harinder Har's daughter, Harniwajpreet Kaur, and the Mohali Press Club's calendar for the new year 2026 was released. He congratulated the entire Mohali Press Club team on the occasion and said that the Mohali Press Club continues to celebrate Lohri for newly born girls. He added that today, women are working equally with men in every field. On this occasion, Kulwant Singh reiterated his promise to the entire journalist community and said that he would definitely fulfill the long-standing demand for space for the Press Club.
Earlier, Mohali Press Club President Sukhdev Singh Patwari and all the governing body members thanked the chief guest Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, MLA Kulwant Singh, Milkfed Chairman Narinder Singh Shergill, Water Supply and Sewerage Board Chairman Dr. Sunny Ahluwalia, District Planning Board Chairman Madam Prabhjot Kaur and Baninder Bani for coming to the fair.
