S.A.S.Nagar 21 January ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Politics has heated up over the controversial remarks made by Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi in the Delhi Assembly regarding the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has taken a strong stance on this matter and demanded immediate and strict action against Atishi. Punjab BJP press secretary Hardev Singh Ubha said that this matter is not just political rhetoric, but a serious issue connected to the sentiments of the Sikh community, which cannot be ignored at any cost.

Hardev Singh Ubha alleged that the statements made in the Delhi Assembly and through a video have hurt the honor of the great martyr of the Sikh religion, 'Hind ki Chadar' Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He said that Guru Sahib sacrificed everything for the protection of religion and humanity, and any kind of disrespect towards him can never be tolerated. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party and Atishi had initially claimed that the video in question had been tampered with, but now the report from the Delhi Forensic Lab has made it clear that the video is authentic and has not been edited or altered in any way. Ubha said that now that the truth has been fully revealed, there is no longer any scope for suppressing the matter or misleading the public.

The Punjab BJP press secretary said that this act committed by Atishi is unforgivable. He said that if a person makes a mistake unintentionally, they come forward, repent, and seek forgiveness from the congregation, but in this case, Atishi is neither coming before the public nor bowing at the feet of the Guru Sahib to ask for forgiveness. On the contrary, she is trying to hide by remaining silent, which in itself makes the offense even more serious.

Ubha also alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party is playing with Sikh sentiments in both Delhi and Punjab. He said that on one hand, the party claims to be a well-wisher of the Sikhs, while on the other hand, its leaders make statements that hurt the historical greatness of the Gurus, which is unacceptable under any circumstances. The Punjab BJP has appealed to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and all representative organizations of the Sikh community to take serious note of this matter now that the truth has been fully revealed by the forensic report. He said that there is a need to unite and take strong steps to protect the religious honor of the Sikh community, so that in the future, no individual or party would dare to commit such an act without thinking twice.

Finally, Hardev Singh Ubha said that the BJP will not back down on this issue and the struggle will continue until strict action is taken against the culprits. He clarified that this fight is not about politics, but about protecting the honor of the Sikh religion and the immense sacrifices of the Gurus. Ubha questioned the silence of the hardliners and self-proclaimed custodians of the faith, asking why those who make an issue out of trivial matters are now silent on such a major religious issue? Why haven't they taken to the streets yet?
