Haryana LSA, DoT, and NPTI Faridabad Organize One-Day Workshop on “5G Applications in Power Sector”
Faridabad 9 September ( PDL ) : The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Haryana LSA, in collaboration with the National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Faridabad, organized a one-day workshop on “5G Applications in Power Sector” at NPTI Faridabad. The initiative is part of DoT’s nationwide program to leverage the 100 5G Use Case Labs established across the country, with NPTI Faridabad hosting one of the pioneering labs. The event was graced by senior dignitaries from DoT, including Sunita Chandra, Director General; Shubha N. Bhambhani, Additional Director General Telecom (DGT HQ); R. Shakya, Additional Director General Telecom, Haryana LSA; Sanjay Kumar, DDG (Technology), Haryana LSA; Ashok Kumar, DDG (SRI); and Karan Goyal, Director (Technology), Haryana LSA. From NPTI, key dignitaries included Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General NPTI; Dr. S. Selvam, Principal Director NPTI; and Dr. N. K. Shrivastava, Director NPTI. Over 100 participants representing power generation, transmission, and distribution organizations attended the workshop. The technical sessions were chaired by eminent experts and featured speakers from IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, leading industry players, innovative startups, and government organizations. The workshop brought together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and domain experts to explore the transformative role of 5G and allied technologies—AI/ML, IoT, drones, and space-based innovations—in enhancing the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of the power sector. Discussions focused on next-generation communication technologies, integration of emerging solutions, innovative use cases, and the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
