“Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai…” — A Melodious Journey of Memories at Surila Safar 2026
Chandigarh 7 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : An evening soaked in timeless melodies and deep emotions transformed Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh into a soulful gathering of memories, as evergreen songs resonated from the stage of “Surila Safar 2026.” The musical soirée was dedicated to the revered memory of O.P. Raghav, celebrating love, separation, and the many hues of life through music.
The event was organised under the coordination of Rampal Raghav and witnessed the gracious presence of several distinguished guests, including Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi. From senior citizens to seasoned performers, nearly 40 singers took part in the evening. Notable participants included senior citizen B.D. Sharma, HCS Jagdeep Dhanda, Radhika Grover, Sanjeev Kumar, among others. Special appreciation was earned by young performers Navreet and Mishti, whose performances captivated the audience.
This melodious caravan featured heartfelt renditions of immortal songs such as “Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai,” “Duniya Se Jaane Wale Chale Jaate Hain Kahan,” and “O Jaane Wale Ho Sake To Laut Ke Aana.” Each performance stirred emotions, drawing warm applause and leaving many eyes moist with nostalgia.
The evening was seamlessly anchored by Shaili Taneja, whose poised and sensitive presentation kept the audience emotionally engaged throughout. Dr. Arun Kant, who handled the music coordination, elevated the performances with his refined musical insight. Organised with the support of A.R. Melodies Association, the programme was not merely a musical tribute but also a poignant reminder that memories never fade—they simply travel from one note to another.
