Minerva Academy F.C. Thrash YFC Khad 6–0 to Secure Third Straight Win in AIFF Junior League

Chandigarh 13 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Minerva Academy F.C. continued their blistering start to the AIFF Junior League campaign with a commanding 6–0 victory over YFC Khad, registering their third consecutive win of the season. The Warriors delivered another dominant away performance in Ludhiana, further strengthening their reputation as one of the most formidable sides in the competition.

Playing their third straight away fixture, Minerva wasted no time asserting control against the league debutants. The breakthrough arrived early in the 7th minute, when Sandup rose highest to convert a perfectly executed corner, showcasing the visitors’ sharp set-piece preparation.

Just five minutes later, another corner caused havoc in the box as Mahtab capitalised on defensive hesitation to double the lead. With possession and territory firmly in their grasp, Minerva dictated the tempo and kept YFC Khad pinned deep inside their own half.

Minerva’s pressure soon earned a free-kick opportunity outside the penalty area. Denamoni, last season’s top scorer, calmly slotted home at the far post to make it 3–0, marking his first appearance and first goal of the season in style. Moments later, goalkeeper Chingkhei’s brave body-line save triggered a swift counterattack. Denamoni’s dangerous cutback forced a defensive error, resulting in an own goal, as the Warriors marched into halftime with a 4–0 advantage.

The second half followed a similar script, with Minerva continuing to dominate possession and create chances. Despite missing several clear opportunities, the team remained composed and structured.

Azam Khan then stepped up to seal the contest, scoring a well-taken brace to complete a resounding 6–0 triumph.

The result underlines Minerva’s remarkable balance between attack and defence. The Warriors have now scored 29 goals while conceding just one across three matches, collecting a perfect nine points and sitting firmly second in the points table.

Minerva Academy F.C. will next face a major test as they prepare to host Punjab FC on 21 February in their first home game of the season. The clash promises to be a high-stakes encounter that could significantly shape the early title race, with the Warriors eager to continue their winning momentum and stake a strong claim at the top.
