About the history of the temple:
Our Sri Periya Nazhagi Ammal Temple has a very glorious history. On June 9, 1966, the consecration of the sacred idol of Amman was performed by the priest Thiru. Periyasamy Ayya and his wife Amma Rengammal (late). Along with him, the Kothukkarar (taxpayers) from his ancestral village of Asanur, his daughters and family members, as well as the Kothukkarar from other villages, their daughters, family members, and Tamil devotees all came together, and through everyone's unity and cooperation, our temple was established – a great historical milestone. Subsequently, with the grace of Amman, the shrine was developed and transformed into a temple, and to this day, daily worship is continuously performed.
