Mahashivratri festival is being celebrated at Kinnar Dera, Sector 26, from February 14th to 17th, 2026.
Chandigarh 14 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the festival began on February 14th at Jai Mata Kinnar Mandir, Sector 26, with Ganesh Stuti, Shiva Mahima, and Sankalp. The Shat Chandi Maha Yagya, performed by 21 priests, also commenced, and will continue until February 17th. A grand Shiva procession was held in the evening, starting from the temple, circling the entire area, and concluding at the temple. The procession was also given a grand welcome at various locations. Giving information about Mahashivaratri Mahotsav being celebrated with pomp and devotion at Jai Mata Kinnar Temple, Sector 26 from 14th February to 17th February, Mahamandaleshwar Maa Kamalinand Giri Ji Maharaj Shri Shri Kinnar Akhara said that in the continuation of the Mahotsav, tomorrow on 15th February 2026 at 09:00 AM - Shatchandi Puja, 09:00 PM to 05:00 AM. O'clock - Shiv Shakti Rudrabhishek - Night puja will be held. On 16 February 2026, at 05:00 am - Shiva-Parvati marriage and Shatchandi puja will be held at 09:00 am. On the last day of the divine event, on 17 February 2026, Shatchandi Path Purnahuti - Consecration of Mata, special Aarti and distribution of Prasad (05:00 to 07:15 pm) will be done at 05:00 pm.
