Chandigarh 14 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the festival began on February 14th at Jai Mata Kinnar Mandir, Sector 26, with Ganesh Stuti, Shiva Mahima, and Sankalp. The Shat Chandi Maha Yagya, performed by 21 priests, also commenced, and will continue until February 17th. A grand Shiva procession was held in the evening, starting from the temple, circling the entire area, and concluding at the temple. The procession was also given a grand welcome at various locations. O'clock - Shiv Shakti Rudrabhishek - Night puja will be held. On 16 February 2026, at 05:00 am - Shiva-Parvati marriage and Shatchandi puja will be held at 09:00 am. On the last day of the divine event, on 17 February 2026, Shatchandi Path Purnahuti - Consecration of Mata, special Aarti and distribution of Prasad (05:00 to 07:15 pm) will be done at 05:00 pm.
