Chandigarh 26 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said that the indecent protest by Youth Congress workers during the International AI Summit held in Delhi was not an ordinary demonstration but a calculated conspiracy to damage India’s global reputation. Chugh stated that emerging facts clearly indicate that the entire episode was orchestrated at the behest of Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi family. Playing politics at the cost of national prestige has become a habit of the Congress party, he added. Chugh further said that it is even more alarming that individuals accused of attempting to disrupt the summit were allegedly given protection in Himachal Pradesh. If Delhi Police had reached with valid warrants and transit remand orders, obstructing them and seizing their vehicle runs contrary to the spirit of federalism and the rule of law. No political ideology can be placed above the law, he asserted.
Chugh added that if there were procedural objections, they should have been addressed through constitutional and legal mechanisms. Creating a police-versus-police situation is not only unfortunate but also sends a message that in Congress-ruled states, political interests are being placed above the rule of law. Turning to Punjab, Tarun Chugh said that the same party which, before coming to power, promised a complete crackdown on illegal mining and projected Rs. 20,000 crore in mining revenue is now witnessing its own senior leader, Malvinder Kang, admitting collusion between leaders, officials, and the mining mafia. This statement itself is proof of the AAP government’s failure. Chugh said the people of Punjab are asking whether this is the “change” that was promised. Will Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann initiate strict action against those involved in illegal mining? Will corruption cases be registered, or will this issue too be buried like many others?
He stated that if there is collusion between those in power and the mining mafia, it represents a moral and administrative collapse. Punjab deserves transparent and accountable governance, not a system that shelters mafias. Referring to the Gurdaspur ASI murder and subsequent fake encounter allegations, Tarun Chugh said these developments present a grim picture of the deteriorating law-and-order situation in Punjab. Repeated criminal incidents, gang wars, and attacks on police establishments indicate that criminals no longer fear the law. Chugh said the AAP government has failed both the victim families seeking justice and innocent citizens who expect protection. The primary duty of governance is to ensure impartial investigation and transparent action.
He concluded that when a government prioritizes image management over administration, the system weakens. The people of Punjab now seek firm, transparent, and accountable leadership capable of restoring law and order.
