Federation of UT Employees and Workers, Chandigarh celebrated "Mang Diwas" on 26th February

Chandigarh 26 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Federation of UT Employees and Workers Chandigarh celebrated a rally on February 26, 2026 in different departments to implement the ten-point central demand letter and the 14-point demand letter given to the Chandigarh administration on the call of the All India State Government Employees Federation. In this regard, rallies were held in Electricity Office Sector 17, Water Supply Sector 15, Road Booth Sector 29 and 31, Horticulture Booth Sector 40 and 47 and Solid Waste Plant Sector 25 and memorandums were sent to the Chandigarh administration and the Central Government through the rallies.

The memorandum sought to fulfill the following demands as soon as possible. 1) All contract employees should be regularized. Contract / outsource / daily wage employment system should be abolished. All vacant posts in State Government Departments and Public Undertakings (PSU) should be filled on a regular basis. 2) repeal the PFRDA Act; NPS /UPS should be abolished. Fund managers should be directed to return the deposits to the state governments. All members should be brought under the defined benefit pension system under EPS-95. Repeal the Pension Act 2025 and restore the rights of pensioners under OPS. 3) All four Labor Codes should be repealed. Privatization / corporatization of PSUs and downsizing of government departments should be stopped. 4) The Terms of Reference of the 8th Pay Commission (8th CPC) should be reviewed. Regular salary revision should be ensured every five years. 10% of basic salary subject to a minimum of ₹5000 Interim Relief should be provided. 5) A comprehensive health/insurance scheme should be implemented with government support for contract employees including employees and pensioners to ensure cashless treatment in all hospitals. 6) withdraw the National Education Policy (NEP); Compulsory TET order for teachers should be withdrawn. 7) Articles 310, 311(2)(a)(b)(c) of the Constitution should be repealed. 8) All installments of DA/DR pending in the States should be released with arrears from the effective date. 9) Centre-state relations should be redefined and co-operative federalism should be protected. 10) Secularism enshrined in the constitution should be maintained and struggle against all forms of communalism. 
Apart from the above central demands, the contractual employees sent from the electricity department to the private company CPDL should be adjusted in the company without giving any written papers, the modified ACP scheme should be implemented by applying the report of the seventh pay commission, the electricity employees sent from the administration to the private company should be promoted quickly in all departments and in the recruitment rules. To amend, to adjust the employees sent from the electricity department to a private company in other departments, to immediately put on duty the crutch workers who were terminated and forcibly retired out of revenge and to restore their previous salary, to stop giving the green belt and parks running under MC Horticulture to private societies through MoUs, to confirm all the daily wage employees who have completed 10 years and to confirm the basic pay DA until confirmed, A memorandum was sent with demands including implementation of CCA and all allowances like house rent, medical etc., giving revised DC rate for the year 2025-26 to the retrenched employees, paying pensionary benefits to the retired employees, and canceling the decision to retrench the employees. .
