Chandigarh 28 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The two-day "C-PEX - Chandigarh Pet Expo 2026," the 79th All Breed Dog and Horse Show, and the 80th and 81st All Breeds Pointed Championship Dog Shows, began on Saturday at the Parade Ground, Sector 17. The show is being organized by Cat Consult in collaboration with the Chandigarh Kennel Club, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), and the Small Animal Clinicians Association (SACA). C-Peks 2026 was inaugurated by Pradeep Kumar, Additional Commissioner of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. The two-day event, which runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., will feature over 500 dogs from 30 breeds. The judging will be done by a jury of four international and four Indian members.
Pradeep Kumar, Additional Commissioner, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, said that with the rise of nuclear families, the importance of pets is increasing, and this exhibition provides an opportunity for all stakeholders to discuss various issues related to pet welfare.
