Chandigarh Students excelled at India Skills Competition held at Agra
Regional Level IndiaSkills Competition 2026 Showcases Talent and Innovation of Beautiful City : Nitish Singla
Chandigarh 16 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Regional Level IndiaSkills Competition 2026, held from 10th March to 14th March at Agra, witnessed an extraordinary showcase of talent, skill, and innovation from across the North Region. A total of 5 States and 4 Union Territories participated in the competition. The competition was hosted by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), the event served as a platform to celebrate the capabilities of the region's skilled workforce.
A total of 66 participants from Chandigarh competed in 30 diverse skill trades, highlighting the rich diversity of skills present in the region. Despite the challenges, 35 candidates showcased their expertise in 22 skill trades, demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm and energy throughout the competition. Among the commendable achievements, Chandigarh participants secured significant accolades, with 5 candidates clinching Gold Medals, 6 candidates securing Silver Medals, 11 candidates winning Bronze Medals, and 13 candidates earning the prestigious Medallion of Excellence in various skill categories. Nitish Singla,Mission Director said that these Regional Level IndiaSkills Competition 2026 Showcases Talent and Innovation of the beautiful City.
These accomplishments were achieved under the able guidance of Mission Director Nitish Singla, PCS, along with the dedicated team comprising Dr. Sunita Mehta, Overall Nodal Officer, IndiaSkills Competitions 2026; RO Charanjeet Singh Sindhu; and Team Leaders Ashwani and Renu Gulati. Their remarkable performances underscored the dedication and talent embedded within Chandigarh's skilled workforce. Dr Sunita Mehta overall Nodal officer said that the competition not only celebrated individual achievements but also served as a platform to foster collaboration, encourage knowledge exchange, and inspire the next generation of skilled professionals. It reinforced the commitment of MSDE and NSDC towards nurturing a Skilled India, ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century initiated by Government of India.
