He also demanded Rs 50 crore to Rs 70 crores annual research grant for the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to improve the research facilities for better agriculture. The Ludhiana MP made a strong case for providing debt relief to the small and marginal farmers through one time settlement by waiving off their interests. Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini honored 252+ drone pilots and 136 drone technicians by giving them certificates

Chandigarh 8 September ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : Haryana Government has taken a big step towards technology and youth empowerment. Department of Agriculture and Haryana Skill Development Mission in association with AVPL International organized a certificate distribution ceremony of drone pilots and technicians at Haryana Niwas, Chandigarh. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini was the chief guest on this occasion. He encouraged 252+ DGCA-certified drone pilots and 136 drone technicians by giving them certificates and wished them a bright future. During the ceremony, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the AVPL Agriculture Drone Pavilion and the Startup Defense Pavilion. Here the use of drones in both agriculture and defense sectors was demonstrated. Along with this, the country's largest DGCA-recognized drone training institute and drone manufacturing unit built in Sisai (Hisar) was e-inaugurated. Apart from this, 6 new RPTOs were opened in different parts of the state, so that drone training can be easily available in every village.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that “Haryana's youth have tremendous potential to move ahead in drone technology. Today, India has become the world's fourth largest economy from the 11th largest economy on the strength of the youth, following the path shown by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.” At the same time, Dr. Preet Sandhu, Co-founder and Managing Director of AVPL International said that "We have to connect the youth with deep tech and take them towards innovation. The youth of Haryana have the highest passion for acquiring skills, that is why 10 drone flyzones have been started only in Haryana." Dr. Preet Sandhu said that this ceremony is an important step towards self-reliant Haryana. Youth equipped with DGCA certified skills will now lead in society and agriculture along with being professionals. He further said that this initiative will provide high-paying career and entrepreneurship opportunities to rural youth without leaving the village. Drones will make activities like precision farming, spraying and monitoring in agriculture easier, while the defense and security sector will also be strengthened. AVPL International Chairman Deep Sihag Sisai said that this has been possible only with the support of the Haryana government. Now drone technology will not be limited to cities but will reach every village, every student and every farmer. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Preet Sandhu.
