S.A.S.Nagar 15 December (Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal): There was a commotion in Mohali Sohana, Punjab when shots were fired during a Kabaddi tournament. This incident took place during a Kabaddi tournament being held in Sohana, Mohali. It is being told that Kabaddi player and promoter Rana Balachauria was shot by the attackers, due to which he died. The bullets hit him in the head. This incident was carried out by three suspects, who came in a Bolero vehicle.
The police have started investigating the case. The recordings of the cameras installed in the area are being examined.
According to information, this incident took place in the Sector-82 ground where a Kabaddi match was going on. Eyewitnesses said that they first heard firecrackers. About 6 rounds of firing took place, after which the attackers fled. One person was injured and was taken to the hospital. People said that the bullets were fired from above the spectators.
On receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the spot and started investigation. The injured player was admitted to Fortis Mohali, where he later died. According to the police, the attackers stopped Rana Balachauria on the pretext of taking a photo and opened fire on him. The attackers fired four to five rounds. The police also found four bullet shells from the spot. When the accused were running away, people tried to catch them. On this, the accused also fired in the air while running away.
