During the meeting, important issues concerning teachers were discussed in detail : JTA
Chandigarh 16 February ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : A meeting of the Core Committee of the Joint Teachers Association (JTA), Chandigarh, was held today at Rose Garden, Chandigarh, under the leadership of Chairperson Supriya Saini and General Secretary Sanjay Yadav. The meeting was attended by core committee members and senior representatives of the teaching community. During the meeting, important issues concerning teachers were discussed in detail, including: Grant of 7th CPC benefits to the 2015 batch teachers and their inclusion in the SSA cadre. Promotion of JBT teachers to TGT and TGT teachers to Lecturer posts. Early disposal of long pending Child Care Leave (CCL) cases of female teachers belonging to UT cadre and those from Punjab and Haryana on deputation.
The Core Committee expressed serious concern over the delay in resolving these genuine demands and resolved to pursue the matter with the competent authorities for early resolution. In a historic and unanimous decision, the Core Committee declared Mr. Ranbir Kumar Jhorar as the official candidate of the Joint Teachers Association for the Panjab University Senate Elections 2026 from the Graduate Constituency, scheduled to be held on 20 September 2026.
Chairperson Supriya Saini and General Secretary Sanjay Yadav stated that Ranbir Kumar Jhorar has been continuously working for the welfare, dignity, and rights of the teaching community. They expressed full confidence that he will strongly represent the voice of the teaching fraternity of Chandigarh in the Senate of Panjab University and work sincerely for resolving their core issues. Ranbir Kumar Jhorar assured the committee that he will represent the teaching community with dedication, integrity, and commitment, and will make every possible effort to address their long-pending demands. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks and reaffirmed the Association’s commitment towards protecting the rights and interests of teachers.
