AAP govt has turned on govt employees & is forcing them to obey illegal dictates by threatening them : Sukhbir S Badal

(Says Baghapurana SDM, who was being forced to elect AAP leaders to top posts in the Block Samiti, was not getting justice despite complaint to chief secretary)

Moga 22 March ( PDL ) : Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had now turned on government employees and was forcing them to obey its illegal dictates by indulging in physical and mental harassment and even threats of elimination to their family members. Addressing a massive public gathering here as part of the Punjab Bachao campaign along with Sanjeet Singh Sunny Gill, the SAD president said the new case of mental harassment and torture being meted out to Baghapurana SDM Babandeep Singh Walia had proved that the Aam Aadmi Party did not believe in rule of law and could do anything to secure bogus poll victories.Badal said it was shocking that the Baghapurana SDM had detailed the harassment being meted out to him to the chief secretary and even disclosed how Moga deputy commissioner Sagar Setia was forcing him to elect AAP candidates forcibly to the offices of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Baghapurana Block Samiti. He said despite an official communication to the chief secretary the SDM was not getting justice and the Baghapurana MLA - Amritpal Singh Sukhanand was constantly pressuring him to elect AAP leaders to the top posts in the Block Samiti even though the party was in a minority.

Asserting how this had come close on the heels of the suicide by Warehousing Corporation regional manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa who was physically and mentally harassed by then Transport minister Laljit Bhullar, the SAD president appealed to the employees to remain strong. “Do not obey illegal orders. We are with you and will not allow any injustice to be done to you”.Stating that the AAP government was trying to deceive Punjabis again by claiming it would give Rs 1,000 per month to general women and Rs 1,500 per month to those from the reserved category, Mr Badal said “the AAP government has taken a loan of Rs 52,000 crore and has sold government land to give this allowance to women for six months”. He said in this process the government has also withheld power subsidy to PSPCL. This will spell doom for Punjab and its farmers”, he added.

Laying out his vision for Punjab, Badal said the SAD would not allow water to flow into the Rajasthan canal. “All water diverted from the Rajasthan canal will be diverted to the fields of Punjab. He also announced he would not allow one drop of industrial or sewage effluent to enter the Sutlej and Beas rivers. The violators will be dealt with sternly. This is absolutely essential to tackle the scourge of cancer in the Malwa belt”. He also announced that the ‘Rahat’ scheme initiated by the erstwhile SAD government would be revived to put an end to tax terrorism to which traders were subjected to both during the previous Congress and present AAP government.

The SAD president also announced that an Rs 10 lakh interest free loan would be offered to youth besides restarting an expanded Aata Dal scheme and raising old age pension to Rs 3,100 per month and Shagun allowance to Rs 1 lakh. He also announced all farmers bereft of a tubewell connection would be given this facility besides 12 hour power supply in day time, establishment of a World Skill University with its affiliated Colleges in each district and government jobs for Punjabis only.
