Chandigarh's CCA Punjab Telecom Circle Organises Quarterly Pension Adalat & Life Certificate Collection Camp in Jalandhar

Chandigarh/Jalandhar 17 March ( Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal ) : The Office of the Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), Punjab Telecom Circle, Chandigarh, under the Ministry of Communications, Department of Telecommunications, organised a Quarterly Pension Adalat & Life Certificate Collection Camp along with a Welfare Camp for pensioners and family pensioners of the Department of Telecommunications and BSNL, at Jalandhar on 17 March 2026. Akshay Gupta, Dy. Controller of Communication Accounts, Punjab, Chaired the programme. Officers dealing with pension sanction and pension disbursement were also present on the occasion.The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.

During the Pension Adalat, Hardeep Kaur, Accounts Officer, apprised the Chairperson Akshay Gupta that the office had received 9 pension grievances, out of which 9 grievances were settled. In his keynote address, Akshay Gupta, Dy CCA Punjab, stated that his office is committed to providing efficient and timely departmental pension services to pensioners and family pensioners in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of India. He further mentioned that, in addition to the Quarterly Pension Adalat, the office is also organising various welfare programmes for pensioners and family pensioners. 

The Chairperson said that the office has set up Counters where pensioners can submit their Life Certificates, apply for Pensioner Identity Cards, and submit applications for up-dation of mobile numbers and addresses for up-dation in their Pension records. Akshay Gupta emphasised that while the office provides efficient services to pensioners, it also welcomes suggestions from them for further improvement of services. Pensioners were encouraged to share their valuable feedback and suggestions.

During the programme, the following sessions were organised for the benefit of pensioners:

 1. Awareness Video on Digi Locker of the Government of India

 2. Awareness Video on UMANG Application

 3. Lecture on Cyber Awareness and Digital Fraud Prevention

 4. Health Talk by Senior Consultant (Ophthalmologist)

 5. Health Talk by Doctor (Dietician)

 6. Lecture on Yoga Practice in Daily Life

 7. Collection of Life Certificates

 8. Collection of Know Your Pensioner (KYP) forms and Identity Card applications

 9. Distribution of plant saplings to participants

 10. Interactive Session with pensioners and family pensioners

The key feature of the camp was the one-on-one interactive session with the Dy. CCA, Akshay Gupta, where pensioners had the opportunity to directly discuss their issues and suggestions. The Quarterly Pension Adalat and Welfare Camp was well received by the pensioners and family pensioners. Expressing gratitude and appreciation, Manmohan Singh, President of the Pensioners’ Association, Jalandhar, stated that the Association and pensioners of Jalandhar district are satisfied with the prompt services provided by the CCA Office.

Concluding the session, Akshay Gupta, Dy. CCA Punjab, stated that in line with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the office under the Department of Telecommunications is making continuous efforts to organise welfare initiatives and bring pension-related services closer to the doorstep of pensioners.
