He also demanded Rs 50 crore to Rs 70 crores annual research grant for the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to improve the research facilities for better agriculture. The Ludhiana MP made a strong case for providing debt relief to the small and marginal farmers through one time settlement by waiving off their interests. FIT India Carnival to be held at NSNIS, Patiala from 7–9 March 2026

Patiala 5 March ( PDL ) : Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala, under the Sports Authority of India (SAI), will organise the FIT India Carnival 2026 from 7th to 9th March 2026 at the NSNIS Campus, Patiala. The three-day carnival aims to promote the message of “Fitness as Fun” by encouraging people of all age groups to actively participate in various physical activities and adopt a healthy lifestyle. The event will bring together sportspersons, fitness enthusiasts, students, and the general public in a vibrant celebration of fitness and wellbeing.

The Opening Ceremony of the FIT India Carnival will be held on 7 March 2026 at 9:00 AM at NSNIS, Patiala. The carnival will feature a wide range of engaging activities including Yoga sessions, Zumba fitness sessions, demonstrations of various sports, traditional games, fun fitness challenges, and interactive experience zones designed to inspire people to stay active.

A special highlight of the carnival will be the Sunday on Cycle event on 8 March 2026, organised in connection with International Women’s Day, encouraging women and citizens of Patiala to participate in cycling and promote an active lifestyle. The carnival will also showcase demonstrations and participatory activities that highlight the importance of regular physical activity and community engagement in building a healthier India.

The Closing Ceremony of the FIT India Carnival will be held on 9 March 2026 at 5:45 PM at NSNIS, Patiala.
